Tommy Ver Elst

Tommy Ver Elst has been Managing Director of Sensata Technologies for Bulgaria since 2011. He manages the Company’s most significant Operations facility in Europe including engineering, customer-focused and shared services departments and represents a team of almost 3,500 people, based across Botevgrad, Plovdiv, and Sofia. He is a key member of the Company’s European Leadership Team. with over 15 years of management experience.

Sensata Technologies is Bulgaria’s largest automotive company, and this year celebrates its 25 Years in Bulgaria. Under Tommy’s leadership, it was honored with the “Factory of the Year 2024” award from Capital; “Team of the Year 2024” by Manager magazine; “Lean Team of the Year” 2024 & 2025 by the Lean Institute Bulgaria; and the “Innovation Award 2025” from KRIB. 

Tommy Ver Elst is President of American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Bulgaria and the Chairman of the Automotive Cluster Bulgaria.
